Interns and Volunteers

BAY Positives accepts applications for interns through the Queer Youth Training Collaborative (QYTC) via a grant from the Mayor's Office of Children, Youth, and Their Families. An internship is temporary (16-24 weeks), part-time (10 hours/week), and paid ($10/hour).

How to Become an Intern
The internship focuses on building marketable job skills; accordingly, intensive supervision, mentorship, and training are integral to the program. Applicants should be 14-17 years old and (ideally) identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, or questioning.

Click here to read an interview with Michele Baron, a volunteer and an intern for 2 years at BAY Positives. The interview, edited for space, is from the website of Youth in Philanthropy.

BAY Positives is accepting applications for new volunteers. Opportunities range from outreach to administration to coordinating special projects and events. We match your skills and interests with an appropriate opportunity.

How to Become a Volunteer

We encourage anyone living with HIV/AIDS (especially young people), women, people of color, and corporate members of the community to volunteer with BAY Positives.
