Catherine
Toyooka, Program Director + Resident Sexpert
Catherine
joined the BAY Positives team in November
2002. She is a member of the Mayor's Task
Force on Methamphetamine, and a Advanced Certified
Health Outreach Worker (CHOW) with the State
of California who has received comprehensive
Sex Educator training through SFSI (San Francisco
Sex Information).
Catherine has successfully
completed over 200 hours of training in
sex education with an emphasis on HIV transmission.
She has pioneered online outreach to the
San Francisco youth community and has been
providing referrals and information for
over 3 years. Catherine
presented "Casual Encounters: Guidelines
to Youth-Focused Online HIV Prevention"
at the 2006 Ryan White National Youth Conference.
She has also joined the
Center
for Sex and Culture as
an Off-Site Sex Educator.
